Mike's first Scuba certification was in 1982 in the midwest and has been diving constantly since, in almost all conditions and climates ever since, only missing about 12 years when he first arrived in the Pacific NW and gradually progressing to an Instructor (NAUI 56440) . Mike served as a US Navy Hospital Corpsman, with most of that career spent with the Marines. He has been in the Emergency Services (Medical, Fire Fighter, Law Enforcement) in some form since 1985 across the US and a few other countries. Mike’s favorite classes to teach are Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diving. When Mike is not teaching, he can be found doing woodworking, boating, camping and of course Scuba Diving.
Amy first got certified in 2004 at age 13. After graduating high school, she went to Moorpark College in California and got accepted into the Exotic Animal Training and Management Program. She moved to Florida for a short while to do an internship at Clearwater Marine Aquarium then got her degree in Zoology and a minor in Scientific Diving at Humboldt State University. Once Amy graduated from HSU, she got a job in Kitsap County and is currently training marine mammals. Since her time in Kitsap, she has become a NAUI instructor (60751) and loves teaching new students how to become safe divers while enjoying all the water has to offer. Out of all the available classes, her favorite class to teach is Rescue and loves to push people to become better divers.
